Bees are incredible, useful and hardworking creatures that do so much to enhance our environment. They are essential to human existence, in fact! Sadly they are increasingly deprived of sources of pollination – especially in urban areas. There are many varieties of herb plant that the bees absolutely love, and are excellent sources of pollen. These herbs are also very tasty and smell amazing too.
In a day and age in which low-maintenance gardening and paved driveways are the norm for most of us, planting up a few pots of herbs on our front drive or landscaped back garden can do so much to help the plight of the bees. This collection is for you to enjoy too, but mainly the bees!
The flavours that the bees are going to be enjoying:
Thyme 'Archers Gold' - this low-growing, evergreen variety of thyme will be covered in bright flowers throughout summer. You will love seeing local bees enjoying your flowers; watching them really is one of the joys of the gardening calendar.
Lavender 'Grosso' - a beautiful French Lavender variety that produces masses of purple Lavender flowers, which will flower well into summer. It's very popular with local bees and butterflies.
Chives- this classic variety is well-known as an amazing pollinator and produces lots of big, beautiful pink flowers full of nectar and pollen early on in the season, which are vital at that time of year!
Thyme 'Sparkling Bright' - this is a herb garden classic with beautiful silver variegation, evergreen, hardy and easy to grow that also produces pretty white flowers that the bees will love!
Hyssop Blue Flowering - this much-loved variety produces lots of pretty blue flowers that bees will enjoy working away on throughout summer, as they are excellent sources of pollen. Its incredible flavour is delightful too.
Lavender 'Hidcote' x2 - a lovely English Lavender variety, Hidcote is loved particularly by bees. You will love the gorgeous blue flowers of this variety too! You will receive two of this variety in your collection.
Rosemary - a herb garden classic that is a beautiful staple in your herb garden, producing lots of fantastic blue flowers early in the season and throughout summer for you and the bees to enjoy.
Lavender 'Vera' - this is a low-growing variety of Lavender that is also known as 'True Lavender'! It produces beautiful flowers during summer, with a lovely sweet aroma that you will enjoy, but we promise that the bees will enjoy them even more!

How big are the plants?
All herbs are supplied in 9cm pots. They will be freshly picked for your order. The condition of the plants is our primary concern when fulfilling your order. The foliage will differ in size throughout the season and may be clipped prior to dispatch. The herbs are not soft grown and have spent time in unheated conditions. They are a product designed not just to last a few days but to be grown on by yourselves and supply flavour for months to come.
