The Chilli Box has ten different varieties of dried chillies from all over the world, ranging in intensity from the milder Kashmiri and Chipotle chillies to the more notoriously hot Naga and Trinidad Scorpion chillis. The Chilli Box is a brilliant, ready made gift for those that like to add a bit of a kick to their cooking!

We would recommend caution when handling and eating these chillies.

Use the chillis within 6 months of opening.

  • Kashmiri (1k -2K SHU)– Mild chilli flavour within this variety. Popularly used in Indian cuisine. Can be ground down to a powder and added to a variety of dishes. It is beautiful when added to homemade curry.

Chipotle (5k – 10k SHU) – This is a smoked variety of the well-known Jalapeño Chilli. It contains a moderate heat but a strong and deep smoky flavour that is perfect for adding to a variety of dishes.

Amando Chilli (30k – 50k SHU) – This is an Italian variety that is perfect for adding to a wide range of dishes. Fair amount of heat and full of flavour. We like adding this variety to homemade pizza.

Teja Chilli (35k – 45k SHU) – This is an Indian chilli with a slightly peppery flavour. A decent heat that is perfect when added to a wide range of Indian dishes.

Cayenne (30k – 50k SHU)– Cayenne chillies are well known, containing a moderate heat and delicious flavour. This is a staple of many hot sauces currently on the market. This variety is around ten times as hot as a Jalapeño.

Birds Eye (50k – 100k SHU) – This is a Thai chilli that is used extensively in the cuisine of many Asian countries. This is a small fruit with a significant level of heat – around 10-20 times hotter than Jalapeño.

Naga (Approx. 1m SHU) – Naga or ‘Ghost Chilli’ is one of the hotter chillies out there. It is a one-time record breaking ‘hottest chilli in the world’. With a sweet and fruity flavour this is around 200 times hotter than a Jalapeño. Extreme caution should be exercised when handling or eating this chilli.

Smoked Naga (Approx. 1m SHU) – This is a really delicious version of the Naga ‘Ghost Chilli’ that has been smoked to create an amazing and very spicy combination of flavours. Still extremely hot hovering around the one million Scoville mark. Extreme caution should be exercised when handling or eating this chilli.

Trinidad Scorpion (Approx. 1.2m SHU)– Native to Trinidad, this variety is super-hot. It contains a sweet and fruity flavour so when coupled with the extreme heat that comes as standard within this variety, the flavour is a mix of sweet and hot. Extreme caution should be exercised when handling or eating this chilli.

Carolina Reaper (Peaking around 2m SHU) – In 2013, this variety was officially recognised as the hottest chilli in the world by the Guinness Book of Records. Behind the extreme heat is a pleasing flavour that can be added cautiously to homemade sauce or chutney. Extreme caution should be exercised when handling or eating this chilli.
