"Japanese Parsley ticks so many boxes for us. It is unusual, looks great and tastes even better. Perhaps most importantly it is massively productive.
You can grow this variety in the ground on in a container. It will require around 30cm of space. Keep it nice and wet, especially during warmer weather. Cut the foliage regularly taking good sized handfuls from the plant. The more that you cut the more it will produce. It is seriously SO productive. If you let this plant grow a little larger it is really attractive and architectural, perfect for edging a path or providing a splash of attractive foliage in the kitchen garden.
In the kitchen the leaves of Japanese Parsley are really tasty in salad. I add this as a filler to sandwiches or allow it to form the base of a tomato salad. The flavour of the young leaves are not overpowering – simply providing a hint of Parsley and Celery combined into one delicious lush leaf. The older leaf is perfect for adding to soup."
