"Allow us to introduce you to........ The Mushroom Plant although it prefers to be called Rungia klossii to it's friends. Why is it called Mushroom Plant you might well ask? Because it has gorgeous leaves which carry a ‘mushroom esque’ flavour.
It really does have gorgeous glossy leaves and when it flowers it produces really pretty blue flowers. It will grow to about 60cm and if pruned (and hopefully eaten) regularly it will fill out nicely and not become to leggy. Partial shade would be ideal for this plant. Very drought tolerant. Would benefit from protection from frost.
We use it in pasta dishes, stir fries and have been known to eat it raw on a cheese sandwich.
