"This is one of my favourite herbs ‘Hot n Spicy’ Oregano (Origanum vulgare, Latin name correct at time of posting). Of all the herbs that we grow this is probably the one that I use most of. It’s so versatile and easy to grow. It makes a lovely addition to home made pizza, pasta or Mexican dishes. Put this in with fajitas and you will not regret it!
‘Hot n Spicy’ Oregano combines Greek Oregano flavour with a ‘jalapeño like kick’. Sounding good? It isn’t stupidly spicy (which is a shame because I like stupid spicy, but then that’s why we grow Naga Chillies right?!) but it does carry a punch, especially as the leaves grow older and the flavour intensifies. Damn I love this herb.
It is fully hardy, you can plant it outdoors, preferably somewhere sunny and free draining. It really doesn’t enjoy sitting in water. We find that it is an ideal herb for planting in containers. I couldn’t be without it. "
