Now this is something really special, Mushroom Plant is an incredibly unusual herb which not many have heard of. It has gorgeous glossy leaves and produce beautiful blue flowers during the summer months which attract a wide range of pollinators. They have a rather startling appearance so will add something very different into your herb garden.

As the name might suggest, this herb tastes undeniably of mushroom. It pairs perfectly with eggs, pasta dishes, pizzas and more whether sprinkling on fresh, chopped Mushroom Plant, or frying off the leaves in a little butter to enhance the flavour. What's more, the formation of leaves is somewhat similar to that of a cluster of mushrooms adding even more interest to the plant.

These herby treats enjoy free-draining soil as well as partial shade. They really don't like to be waterlogged so keep a careful eye on where you're planting them and the rainfall that they will get. Mushroom Plant does prefer a warmer climate, and so will need a little extra protection in the winter months. This may well mean that you want to plant your herbs into pots so that they're easily transportable to a greenhouse or other safe location before the frost sets in.

So, if you're looking to build a collection of weird and wonderful plants in your kitchen garden, Mushroom Plant is an absolute must-have.
