This variety of Hyssop produces gorgeous purple/pink flowers during summer which are a real treat in the garden, but it is the flavour of this plant that really excites us.  It's foliage contains a delicious lemon/aniseed flavour that makes it perfect for flavouring herbal teas and winter stews making it a great all-rounder. What's more, it truly comes into its own when added to a summer drink with or without alcohol!

Whilst we love to harvest this plant fresh throughout the spring, summer and autumn months, there are lots of ways to preserve its deliciousness so that you can get the best of it all year around. Whether you freeze them into ice cubes to save for special occasions or dehydrate the long green leaves and store them in a jar on your spice rack.

Not only does this plant pack a punch of flavour, but it's also a really easy to grow herb. Enjoying free-draining soil and sun or partial shade, it's a great option for many garden settings. You can plant it out into a bed with a selection of other plants, or pop it in a pot in a courtyard garden and it's likely to thrive. To help you find success with your Giant Mexican Hyssop plants, we've created a guide to help you along the way focusing on all things from planting and pruning to propagating and eating. If you're looking for another variety, why not take a look at common Hyssop?
